After achieving international recognition together with Enric Miralles with projects such as the Igualada Cemetery, Carme Pinós founded her own studio in 1991. She has received numerous awards and mentions including the recent Prat de la Riba Award 2023, the Gold Medal 2022, the Arnold W. Brunner Award 2022, the National Architecture Award 2021, the French International Women Architects Award, ARVHA (2017), the Richard J. Neutra Medal for Professional Excellence from California State Polytechnic University (2016), the 2016 Berkeley-Rupp Prize, the Spanish Architecture Award from the Superior Council of Architects of Spain (1995) or the Ciutat de Barcelona Award (1992). Likewise, in 2012 she was named International Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and in 2011 Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects.
Carme Pinós has combined her activity as an architect with teaching, being a guest professor at prestigious universities such as UC Berkeley, l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris-Val de Seine et Paris-Malaquais, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, l'École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne or Columbia University in NY. It is also worth mentioning his participation in countless international exhibitions and the presence of his work at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the MOMA in New York.
